Closing Open Doors

Common ways spiritual access points are established and how to close them.

Trauma, unforgiveness, generational patterns, and ungodly agreements can open spiritual doors. The good news: every door we did not mean to open, we have authority in Christ to close.

How Doors Open#

Trauma, unforgiveness, generational patterns, occult involvement, and ungodly agreements can all open spiritual doors we never meant to open. Most of them were opened in seasons we did not have language for what was happening.

The good news: every door we did not mean to open, we have authority in Christ to close.

Naming the Door#

Ask the Holy Spirit to show you the door, not just the symptom. Was there a vow you made under duress? An agreement you absorbed from family? A practice you participated in before you knew Jesus?

Name it specifically. Specificity is part of the authority.

Closing the Door#

Repent where repentance is appropriate. Renounce the agreement out loud. Forgive anyone involved. In the name of Jesus, close the door and command anything that came through it to leave.

Then receive — peace, freedom, the Spirit. Empty rooms get refilled; do not leave the swept place bare.
