Father Wound Reflection Guide
A reflection guide for healing father wounds and receiving the Father's love.
This guide walks you tenderly through identifying father wounds, releasing bitterness, and receiving the affirming love of God the Father.
An Honest Start#
Naming a father wound is not dishonoring your father. It is honoring the truth so healing has something to work with.
Reflection 1 — What Was Missing#
What did you need from your father that you did not receive? Words, presence, protection, delight, affirmation? Name it specifically.
Reflection 2 — The Lies It Whispered#
'I am on my own.' 'Love must be earned.' 'God will leave the moment I disappoint Him.' Which of these have you lived in?
Reflection 3 — Release and Forgive#
In prayer, release your father from the debt of what he could not or did not give. This is for your freedom, not his.
Reflection 4 — Encounter the True Father#
Read Romans 8:15 and Psalm 68:5. Ask the Spirit of adoption to reintroduce the Father to the places that learned to flinch. Wait. Receive.
Identity Declarations#
I am chosen. I am wanted. I am defended. I am delighted in. My Father stays.
A prayer to close
Abba, heal what my earthly father could not. Teach me to come close without flinching. Amen.
