Every false identity we wear was given to us by something or someone other than God. This workbook helps you trade each lie for a truer name.
The False Names We Wear#
Every false identity we wear was given to us by something or someone other than God. The performer. The peacemaker. The invisible one. The strong one who never needs anything. Each was a strategy. None is the truth.
Step 1 — Identity Assessment#
List the roles, labels, and reputations you live under. Which were given by God? Which were given by wound, family system, or culture?
Step 2 — False Belief Replacement#
For each false identity, write the lie underneath it. Then write the truth God speaks instead, anchored in Scripture.
Step 3 — Renounce Out Loud#
Speak each renunciation: 'I renounce the identity of…' Then declare: 'I receive the truth that I am…'
Step 4 — Scripture Affirmations#
Read 1 Peter 2:9, 2 Corinthians 5:17, and Ephesians 1:4–5 slowly. Let each word land. Chosen. New. Beloved.
Step 5 — Live From the True Name#
Choose one decision this week you will make from the true name God has given you — not from the old one.
A prayer to close
Father, I lay down every name that is not mine. I receive the name You gave me before the world had a chance to weigh in. Amen.
