The Soul Inventory Worksheet

Identify areas of pain, fear, rejection, grief, and emotional wounds that may need healing.

Save to Sanctuary

Before we can heal, we must be honest about what hurts. The Soul Inventory is a gentle, prayerful tool for naming the wounds we have learned to manage instead of mend.

Set aside an unhurried hour. Open the worksheet with the Holy Spirit, and let Him show you what He is ready to tend.

Introduction#

Healing begins with awareness.

Many people know they are hurting but cannot identify exactly where the pain exists or how it affects their daily lives.

This Soul Inventory is designed to help you prayerfully examine your heart with the Holy Spirit. Ask God to reveal areas that need healing.

"Search me, O God, and know my heart." — Psalm 139:23

Step 1: Identify the Area#

Check any areas that apply: Rejection, Abandonment, Grief, Fear, Anxiety, Betrayal, Shame, Guilt, Anger, Loneliness, Trauma, Father Wounds, Mother Wounds, Church Hurt, Relationship Hurt, Low Self-Worth, or Other.

Step 2: What Happened?#

Describe the event or experience that comes to mind. Take your time. Be honest with what surfaces.

Step 3: How Did It Affect Me?#

How has this experience affected your view of God?

How has it affected your view of yourself?

How has it affected your relationships?

Step 4: What Did I Begin to Believe?#

Examples: I am not enough. I am unwanted. Nobody stays. I cannot trust people. God forgot me.

Write down the belief you formed as a result of the wound.

Step 5: What Does God Say?#

Find one Scripture that contradicts the lie. Write the verse, then write a short truth statement based on it that you can return to.

Step 6: Invitation Prayer#

Jesus, I invite You into this memory and this wound. Show me where You were. Show me what is true. Show me what needs healing. I surrender this area to You. Restore my soul and help me walk in freedom. Amen.

Next Steps#

Continue journaling. Talk with a trusted spiritual leader. Join a healing group. Schedule a healing prayer session. Pursue deliverance if needed. Continue renewing your mind with Scripture.

Remember: awareness is not the end of healing. It is the beginning.
