Trauma Reflection Journal
A gentle journal for processing trauma at the pace of the Spirit.
This journal is paced. It will not rush you. Use it with a trusted counselor, pastor, or healing coach when needed — and always with kindness toward yourself.
A Note Before You Begin#
This journal is paced. It will not rush you. Use it with a trusted counselor, pastor, or healing minister when needed — and always with kindness toward yourself.
If a prompt feels like too much today, set it down. Healing is not a race.
Prompt 1 — What I Am Feeling Now#
Name the emotions present in your body right now. Where do you feel them? What are they trying to tell you?
Prompt 2 — A Memory That Still Visits#
Describe a memory that intrudes on your present. Write only as much as feels safe. The goal is acknowledgment, not re-traumatization.
Prompt 3 — Where Was Jesus?#
Ask the Holy Spirit to show you where Jesus was in that memory. Wait. Write whatever surfaces — image, word, sense of presence.
Prompt 4 — What I Needed Then#
What did the younger you need in that moment that they did not receive? Speak it tenderly. Let Jesus speak it back to you now.
Prompt 5 — One Small Step Toward Safety#
Name one practice this week that will tell your body it is safe now — a walk, a meal eaten slowly, a Sabbath, time with a trusted friend.
A prayer to close
Jesus, You are gentle with what is broken. Tend the places that still ache. I trust the slowness of Your healing. Amen.
