Grief Recovery Journal

A gentle companion through the long, holy work of grief.

Save to Sanctuary

Grief is not a problem to be solved. This journal honors the love that grief is the evidence of, and gives you space to name, remember, and release.

Honoring the Loss#

Grief is not a problem to be solved. It is the evidence of love. This journal honors that love and gives you space to name, remember, and release.

Prompt 1 — Naming What Was Lost#

Write the name of the person, season, dream, or version of yourself you are grieving. Give it weight on the page.

Prompt 2 — What I Loved#

List the specific things you loved. The small ones matter. Gratitude does not erase grief — it honors it.

Prompt 3 — What I Wish I Had Said#

Write the letter you never got to send. Hold nothing back. Then read it slowly, and let it be heard.

Prompt 4 — Where Hope Lives#

Read Revelation 21:4. What does resurrection hope mean inside this specific loss? Write what you find.

Prompt 5 — Carrying It Forward#

How will you honor this loss in the way you live? Name one practice — a memory, a giving, a remembering — that keeps love present.

A prayer to close

God of all comfort, hold this grief with me. Make room in me for both sorrow and hope. Amen.
