Forgiveness Journey Workbook

A guided workbook for the inner work of forgiving.

Save to Sanctuary

This workbook walks you through naming the offense, processing the pain, and praying through release — at your pace, with the Spirit as your guide.

Before You Begin#

Forgiveness is not pretending it did not hurt. It is the Spirit-empowered choice to release what is killing you. Move at your own pace. Bring a trusted friend if needed.

Step 1 — Name the Offense#

Write specifically what happened. Who. What. When. The cross takes sin seriously enough to die for it — so can you.

Step 2 — Feel the Weight#

What did this cost you? Trust, time, identity, a relationship, a season? Let yourself feel the actual weight before you set it down.

Step 3 — Release the Debt#

In prayer, hand each piece to Jesus. 'I release them from the debt of…' You may need to do this many times. That is not failure — it is faithfulness.

Step 4 — Forgive Yourself#

Is there a part of this where you also need self-forgiveness? Name it. Receive the same mercy you just extended.

Step 5 — Boundaries Going Forward#

Forgiveness is given. Trust is rebuilt. What healthy boundary protects your peace from here?

A prayer to close

Jesus, I release every debt I have been carrying. I trust You with justice. Heal what bitterness was hiding. Amen.
