The Whole Life Wheel: Eight Areas of a Whole Life
Spirit, soul, body, relationships, purpose, work, rest, and joy — a way to see your whole life at once instead of one loud area at a time.
Most planners measure output. The Whole Life Wheel measures wholeness — eight areas that together make up an actual life: spirit, soul, body, relationships, purpose, work, rest, and joy.
The point is not a perfect circle. The point is honesty about which area has been quietly starving while another one has been consuming everything.
Eight Areas, One Life#
The Whole Life Wheel looks at eight areas together: spirit, soul, body, relationships, purpose, work, rest, and joy.
Most planners measure only two of them and call it a life.
Score Honestly, Not Kindly#
Give each area a number from one to ten based on the last ninety days — not your intentions.
The gaps are the point. A loud ten in work beside a quiet two in rest explains more about your exhaustion than any calendar audit.
This Is Not a Goal Planner#
The wheel is not asking you to optimize eight areas at once. That is how people burn out in the name of wholeness.
Choose the one area you have been ignoring longest and give it a single small rhythm this month.
Revisit It Quarterly#
Wholeness is not a score you achieve; it is a balance you keep noticing.
Come back every three months. Bring one honest friend. Ask what changed and what you avoided.
A prayer to close
God, sanctify me through and through — spirit, soul, and body. Show me the area of my life that has gone quiet, and give me the grace to tend it. Amen.
scripture highlights
"May God sanctify you through and through — your whole spirit, soul and body."
"I pray that all may go well with you, even as it goes well with your soul."
